Hello everybody. I am new in Mofa world. Just found this bike in barn. As I understand - it is Sachs 502 Tornado. Where I can find more info about this model? What is production year and for what market it was made. Thanks!

Re: Mofa Barn Find
Welcome
Congratulation to your Sachs Tornado.
Looks like a Swiss version because zhe padals are separated from motor into the frame.
Productiondate is about 1960 or so.
Maybe you can find a "matriculation" number stamped into the frame... like TS CH xxxx.
With this number an exact identification is possible and more manufacturerdata.
Please check frame under the seat (mostly right side) and also upper the motor mount on left.
There must be a frame number too...
Anyway, nice condition, original colour...
Some details also looks original, but the
Carburetor dont looks original... should be a Bing 12mm because of the reed intake of the cylinder.
Motor is 2gear manual shift.
What do you like to do with this mostly mint condition moped?
Motor parts are mostly available on after market.
You find them in most known moped stores.
Also tuning is possible... (as example tuning cylinders with 41mm and more, crankshaft with stroke extensions, bigger carbs...)
Or restore back to original.
Please note:

Re: Mofa Barn Find
Thanks for answer! I'm from Ukraine and found this moped in small village in Western Ukraine. It was bought by old many years ago (during USSR era) and spent almost all time in a barn. Plans - to keep it original driving condition. Nice quotes about Carburetor - need to find original part.
